08-19-2013 : | CONTRACT EXTENSION | Contract was extended until July 31, 2014. The state of Colorado, the lead state on the solicitation, has extended the contract with six contractors: Central Lake Armor Express Inc., Point Blank Enterprises, Inc., Safariland, Sentry Armor Systems/GH Armor Systems, Survival Armor and U.S. Armor utilizing contract clause 1.4 "Term of Contract" which reads renewals will be at the discretion of the State of Colorado. Point Blank Enterprises, Inc. has completed acquisition of Protective Products Enterprises, Inc., which had previously acquired the Paraclete brand body armor from MSA. A consent to assignment was executed to memorialize this recent business transition. The contract was not extended with Armor Shield and Diamondback Tactical because no sales were reported.since the inception of the contract. |

This contract was identified as one that requires an amendment to include the quarterly management fee of .74 percent, to be paid to DES on all contract sales effective July 1, 2013. The Management Fee Amendments and attendant Cover Letters for the nine vendors, were forwarded to each on 4/2/13 for signatures. They are due back by 4/9/13, at which time they will be forwarded to management for final approval. Anticipated completion date is mid-April. | |

Upon return of the original signed documents will be countersigned by OSP's Chief Procurement Officer and Colorado.
