2009043004-30-2009 : PRICE ADJUSTMENT 05906AA On-Site Document Destruction Price Increase Information: This contractor had not yet asked for a price increase during the term of the contract, and they were eligible to ask for one every six months after the first year. They came to use requesting a price increase, and provided us with information that showed they were losing money. My manager and I looked at two different Producer Price Indexes (PPI) from November of 2007 to October of 2008. The two PPIs had increases. We averaged the PPI increases (128% and 146%), and then averaged the to PPIs together to come up with a 137% increase over a two-year period. This averaged out to something like a 36% increase per price adjustment term. The vendor’s average price increase was 135%; which was below the average PPI increase, therefore we found it justified and awarded the price increase.
