08-08-2008 : | The WSCA contract has been awarded. We are compiling stakeholder feedback to determine if this approach is where the most success is going to be for the users.
07-07-2008 : | Contract 06801 has expired and there is no coverage for floor covering at this time. Right now, your carpeting purchase options would be to complete projects internally following your agency/institution’s procurement policies and guidelines or submit a Purchase Requisition for us to obtain products/services for you. Washington has participated in the evaluation of a WSCA product-only contract with the manufacturers in anticipation of another successful WSCA partnership. The finalists have provided competitive pricing, demonstrated a commitment to providing environmentally-friendly options and are proactive in their reclamation and recycled content efforts. At this point, we are still awaiting the award announcement. This approach will utilize a separate ‘bolt on’ local installation contract which you would use. The installer will work directly with the mills to continue to provide you with a single point-of-contact for the whole package: • Product (based on a multi-state price agreement). • Installation services and installation-related products. Once the WSCA contract is awarded, we will evaluate contract customer feedback to ascertain that this solution best meets the needs of our state and is the best value for our customers. Thank you in advance for your patience.
06-05-2008 : | Contract terminates June 30, 2008, the State will participate in upcoming WSCA floor covering contract. We anticipate a short break in coverage and we will process individual jobs on a per order basis until the WSCA award. Installation services will be accommodated on contract # 02008 following its award.
05-20-2008 : | Revise Current Contract Information to update Office of State Procurement’s Contracts Specialist and Alternate Contact information.
05-07-2008 : | Nevada has received final bids from the mills which clarify freight per individual state and is moving ahead with writing up the contracts. We will participate through a PA and release an IFB for the installation and related services portion.
04-07-2008 : | As the current Carpet and Floor Covering Contract # 06801 is set to expire June 30, 2008, we are looking at participating in the recently developed Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) contract for carpet, tile and other flooring materials, and then competitively bidding a separate Washington-only installation piece to be sure our state’s needs are appropriately met. Once approved, customers would be provided with an anticipated seamless transition, no lapse in coverage and the following added benefits: A breadth of product offerings and installation services that will accommodate a diverse range of customer needs Improved product pricing with further transparency and accountability Access to environmentally-friendly options While the WSCA Contract is with the manufacturers, it is our vision that customers will have a single point of contact, continuing to interact only with the installation vendors who will then utilize the WSCA contract to obtain the product for installation. We will be working with GA Management in the next week for final review and approval of this concept and will then be contacting potential stakeholders to help us work toward our final goals.
