New kosher food items are currently being tested by DOC.The items were also evaluated with several members of the OSP staff. Upon completion of the tasting the next step shall be determined. |

Issues currently being addressed: items ordered for the kosher menu are currently being delivered 5-7 days late, new kosher items being researched and DSHS properties have stated that they were not involved in the process of substituting the current juice mixes with clear colored flavors for DOC. These issues are currently being addressed with interruptions due to vacations of the people involved in the process. |

More research is being conducted into the possibility of shelf stable kosher meals. Contact has been made with companies from the East coast who are currently supplying other State and Federal agencies. Shipping logistics seem to play the biggest role in how the State would go about procuring the said items. Communications have just begun and many issues will need to be worked out prior to getting the agencies utilizing this product line involved. |
