2005081908-19-2005 : 08903 is the third long-term master contract for fencing materials the state has managed and all three times Pacific Fence & Wire Co has been identified as the successful bidder. This contract is nearing its second year and the average score for the 17 CPE responses was 5.8 out of a high of 7. Last year in accordance with contract terms the vendor petitioned for a price increase in response to market volatility. The contractor has agreed to a contract extension and has not requested any price adjustments. Most comments shown on the CPE's make mention of the aggressive prices offered by the contractor which is likely due to the fact that Pacific Fence and Wire is also the manufacturer of chain link fence. extended an additional 24 months.

2005081108-11-2005 : The total projected term worth is listed at $662,750 but usage reports indicate that the contractor is on target to reach $650,000. However the $650,000 projection does not include this summer's sales and because this is the busiest quarter, I suspect their sales will reach the projected sales of $662,750 as projected. Because of the 14 year track record for quality contract performance and competitive pricing, I'm recommending that this contract be extended an additional 24 months.
2005070807-08-2005 : End of Biennium and the Smartbuying Fuel workload issues prevented me from further analysis but all indicators suggest a contract extension is in order. The contractor has agreed to a contract extension. In the weeks ahead I'll be preparing the necessary extension paperwork. No lapse in coverage anticipated.

2005041104-11-2005 : Contractor performance evaluations forms have been collected, tabulated, and suggest that an extension is warranted. An extension letter was issued and the contractor is agreeable to a contract extension. In the months ahead I intend to prepare the necessary documentation needed to extend the contract. No lapse in coverage is anticipated.
2005030403-04-2005 : This contract will be up for extension on 8/26/05. A price adjustment was granted last year because of the steel market volatility. CPE's will be sent out next month. I anticipate that this contract will be extended but it's too soon to tell at this point.
2004090309-03-2004 : In accordance with contract terms, a price increase (of an average 20.5%) has granted and applied to contract items. This action was prompted by a 35% increase in the cost of steel since January 2004 as reported by the Producer Price Index. As with the previous contract price schedule, the new prices are to remain firm for 365 days.
2004051805-18-2004 : The volatility of the steel market has had significant impact on pricing and availability of fencing materials. The contractor, Pacific Fence & Wire Co. has requested price relief but IFB terms do not allow for any price adjustments for the first year. After exploring all options, the state indicated that it would be willing to consider a request for contract termination by mutual agreement in accordance with section 33e of our standard terms and conditions. However, after further consideration, the contract administrator Steve Weisensee called me this afternoon and indicated that his firm would continue to honor contract terms and seek price relief following August 26, 2004. A meeting has been tentively scheduled for July 13 whereby a request for price adjustments will be discussed in accordance with the 45 day advance notice clause.
2003082908-29-2003 : Fencing Contract is now available for use.
