Contract #09702 Updates

Contract Title:
Hardware Supplies and Equipment (WSCA)
Date Type Memo
2005121412-14-2005 : This contract expired on November 30, 2005 and Grainger has been identified as the successful bidder of the replacement WSCA contract. The projected award date was scheduled for November 1, 2005 but the official announcement was not made until November 30, 2005. Grainger's legal department voiced some concerns about Washington State's standard terms and conditions but it looks as though they will accept our terms. They have asked that they can have an audience with WA at some future date to discuss our terms and conditions but this request would not contingent upon any requirements of WA. I expect the new contract will become effective by next week.
2005111511-15-2005 : As I understand an award announcement for the replacement WSCA contract will be made sometime this week. Nevada is the sponsoring state Washington is already positioned to participate in this replacement contract once it is awarded. Nonetheless, once an award has been made I expect at least two weeks will be needed before the new contract is active and because Nevada is behind schedule in making an award, there may be a slight lapse in contract coverage. If this happens, customers may wish to initiate orders before the existing contract expires on November 30, 2005 and afterwards utilize their existing purchasing authority and exercise good judgment in acquiring goods currently available via contract 09702.
2005101810-18-2005 : I spoke with the WSCA sponsoring state and they indicated they are still on track for announcing the award of the replacement contract on November 1, 2005. Washington State has already submitted the intent to participate paperwork and we are poised to do so if the new contract and pricing warrants such action. No lapse in coverage anticipated.
2005101010-10-2005 : No award has been announced for the new (WSCA) contract which will replace 09702. Nonetheless, I expect a new contract will be in place and Washington is already positioned to participate if the new contract is in the best interest of the state. I won't know however until the award has been made and a price comparison is conducted. I don't however anticipate a lapse in contract coverage.
2005091209-12-2005 : Washington has submitted our intent to participate in the new replacement contract of 09702. Nevada is the lead state in this WSCA contracting effort and the bid is scheduled to close on September 14, 2005. The vendor selection is targeted for November 1, 2005. Once the selection is made, the state is poised to provide WA customers access to the new replacement contract which is scheduled to expire on November 30, 2005. No lapse in coverage is anticipated.
2005081108-11-2005 : Nevada is the lead state in spearheading the completion of a new WSCA replacement contract. The bid was released on August 3rd and the projected award date is November 1, 2005. This contract will replace 09702 which is scheduled to expire on November 30 2005. No contract lapse is anticipated at this juncture.
2005070807-08-2005 : This contract is scheduled to Expire on 11/30/05 without the possibility of additional extensions. As I understand, a new replacement WSCA contract is already under development and I expect and award will be announced in the next few months. As with the current contract, I expect that the State will be utilizing the replacement WSCA contract. No lapse in coverage anticipated.
2005030303-03-2005 : Received a formal compliant from Karen Looney (360 794-2295 Rick Mutschler 360 794-2664) of the Monroe Correctional Facility concerning the status of a credit due DOC. I've forwarded the documentation to the Grainger account representative Scott Zommers and I'm awaiting a response.
2004120112-01-2004 : The Grainger contract has been extended through final extension period ending November 30, 2005
2004110811-08-2004 : Grainger also is one of the contractors of the "Paint & Related Items" contract #12400 which is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2004. The state is currently exploring if it makes sense to incorporate the Grainger's Paint & Related Items contract products into contract 09702. If so, my intention is to do so when 09702 is extended for the final year. I'll be meeting with the OSP Contract 12400 Administrator and the Grainger contract administrator this week to discuss this possibility. Irregardless of the outcome of this meeting, all the necessary paper work needed to extend 09702 has been assembled and I expect that the contract will be extended and a lapse in contract coverage is NOT anticipated.
2004101110-11-2004 : I've received all the necessary paper work needed to execute the final one year extension. The contract is slated to expire on November 30,2004 and my goal is to submit the extension recommendation to management by the end of October allowing plenty of time for the approval process. No contract lapse is anticipated.
2004091309-13-2004 : Contractor Performance Evaluations have been returned and all the feedback received was favorable and suggests that the contract be extended. This is a WSCA contract and the sponsoring state Nevada has extended the contract for the final year (11/30/05). I spoke with Nevada contract administrator and they expect to be releasing a new bid this coming spring so that there will be no lapse in contract coverage.
2004081308-13-2004 : The Grainger Safety mandatory contract 13498 is slated to expire on 8/14/04 without the possibly of extension. The pricing for the 50+ items available on 13498 is better than what is on the WSCA contract 09702. Rather than rebidding the contract Grainger has agreed to extend the pricing available on 13498 to 09702 though the expiration date of 11/30/05. As with 13498, these items have been designated as Mandatory Use.
2004080908-09-2004 : Met with new government contract administrator on 8/6/04 and it appears as though WSCA will be extending this contract one more year in accordance with contract terms. CPE's will be sent out this week and in all likelihood I'll be pursuing a contract extension.
2004071507-15-2004 : All feedback with regard to this contract has been favorable. I'm scheduled to meet with the new government account representatives in early August where I hope to get a better sense as to whether or not WSCA will be extending the contract.
2003112611-26-2003 : All necessary extension paperwork has been signed and processed. Contract has been extended through November 30, 2004.
2003111211-12-2003 : Extension agreement with Grainger has been signed Bill Joplin. All that's left is to update the CCI.
2003110511-05-2003 : Received Grainger's signed copy of contract agreement and have submitted this form to Bill Joplin and awaiting his signature.
2003101610-16-2003 : Finalizing administrative paperwork for contract extension. No contract lapse anticipated.
2003091609-16-2003 : Received confirmation of contract extension from WSCA.
