PLAN AHEAD FOR ANTICIPATED GAP IN SERVICE BETWEEN CURRENT AND NEW CONTRACTS!

Enterprise Services anticipates a gap in service for electrical supplies because work toward the next statewide contract (11121) is not likely to be completed before the current contract (05114) expires on August 30, 2022. DES suggests planning ahead and following the recommendations below to minimize impacts of the gap starting September 1, 2022:

1. Review purchasing histories and typical needs during the gap timeframe (estimated from September 1 into November 2022).
2. Purchase supplies now, on the current contract, for any planned projects. Stock up on supplies typically used from September to November to meet agency needs during the gap.
3. For purchases after September 1, review the Facilities Maintenance, Repairs, and Operations (MRO) contract (#01018), which might stock needed electrical supplies. Be advised, however, this contract might have higher prices and less selection than the current and future electrical supplies contract.
4. Alternatively, agencies may use their own procurement authority.

Finally, be on alert for the announcement of the competitive solicitation for electrical supplies on Washington’s Electronic Business Solution (WEBS) or on the planned procurement page for the anticipated timeline for awards.
