Contract Summary

The IT cabling contracting program is a group of categorized lists or “pools” of IT cabling providers within the state’s solicitation notification system (WEBS) for state purchasers to use when they solicit competitive proposals for their IT cabling projects.

Providers on these lists are not “pre-approved” to enter directly into any order or purchase agreement prior to participating in a competitive process conducted by the purchaser/customer..

Region 1: Eastern WA (East of the Pacific Crest Trail) Category A: Inside Only
Region 1: Eastern WA (East of the Pacific Crest Trail) Category B: Inside/Outside
Region 2: Western WA (West of the Pacific Crest Trail) Category A: Inside Only
Region 2: Western WA (West of the Pacific Crest Trail) Category B: Inside/Outside

The lists are used by purchasers as part of a “two-tier” contracting approach.
• First tier – list development: DES competitively solicits and awards multiple “first-tier” contracts which allow the awarded contractors to separately compete for work; this status does not entitle “first-tier” contract holders to enter directly into any order or purchase agreement prior to competing for work.
• Second tier – competition for work: As purchasers identify their IT cabling needs, they will advertise their projects to the contractors on the lists in WEBS. The contractors will compete and the ones who offer the best overall value for each project are identified and awarded the work.
