The Center for Economic and Business Research at Western Washington University brings students and faculty together with each client to find solutions that inform, engage, and encourage innovation. Our work includes a variety of analysis documents, presentations and facilitated discussions backed by both primary and secondary research that is supported by academic standards and best practices.

Services Offered:

1. Management Consulting and Business Analysis

We offer consulting services to meet a wide variety of business operational needs. Our team will work with you to provide expert recommendations to optimize business practices, develop your organization, provide on-going support and foster an iterative and collaborative approach to the progress you are looking for.

2. Survey Design and Distribution
The Center can assist you in designing, distributing, and analyzing data from survey instruments. We utilize technology to design online surveys, phone surveys, in-person and mail-in options. As part of this work, we can identify when Institutional Review Board (IRB) or human subjects approval is necessary and will navigate that process for you.

3. Secondary Data Collection
The Center has access to a unique array of economic and other data sources. Let us help you find the right information or point you in the right direction of where to look for reliable data.

4. Focus Groups
The Center regularly completes focus groups (usually in addition to a survey) to further explore stakeholder sentiment, involvement, and goals. Our team actively works to make sure of equal representation and that all voices have the chance to be heard.

5. Data Organization
Having trouble with a large dataset? Let our experts at the Center use modern data analysis techniques and programs to organize your data into a usable format.

6. Economic Impact Assessment
Economic impact is a useful tool but is often misused. Our experts in economic impact analysis use established methodologies to create appropriate economic impact reports that reflect the true economic impact of a decision.

7. Cost-Benefit Analysis

Cost-Benefit Analysis is one of the most widely used economic tools, helping managers to determine whether a project is worth doing. Cost-Benefit Analysis involves identifying and accounting for the costs of an intervention and expressing the related benefits in monetary units.

8. Custom Reports and Research
