Effective Wednesday 11/4/2020 the Contracts Search for Master Contracts by the “Green” filter will be altered to search by “Considerations/Preferences” that are supported through Executive Orders or Procurement Policies.
There is a unique icon that will identify each Consideration or Preference per Master Contract, please see the key at the bottom of the search tool to see the new icons and what they represent.
What is happening with Green?
- DES is currently coordinating with the Department of Ecology to revamp our internal process and define criteria for “Green Contracts” to better aid in your purchasing needs.
- DES will be piloting the new Green Contract and Product Criteria on several Master Contracts through Q1 of 2021.
- DES is currently working to develop guidance and tools in support of Section 1.A of Executive Order 20-01 (SEEP) that will be available at the beginning of 2021.
- “Toxics and Solid Waste Reduction. Directors shall ensure that their agencies are complying with state rules and guidance on environmentally preferable purchasing. Directors of the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) and the Department of Ecology (ECY) shall ensure that their agencies are collaborating to produce guidance that is simple, clear, and targeted on the most important opportunities for toxics and solid waste pollution reduction.”
