This Contract is for Lubricants and Diesel Exhaust Fluids.The purpose of this statewide contract is to enable eligible purchasers to acquire vehicle lubricants, transmission and diesel exhaust fluids for small to heavy-duty vehicles as well as marine and rail engines.These lubricants are primarily used to reduce friction between engine parts, to prevent wear and tear, to dissipate the heat and maintain the temperature, to protect the equipment from oxidation and corrosion, to keep the engine clean and carry the contaminants, and to dampen and cushion the engine components under high stress.
Award Categories
The contract is awarded by 5 categories:
1.
Lubricating Oil - a class of oils used to reduce the friction, heat, and wear between mechanical components that are in contact with each other. Lubricating oil is used in motorized vehicles.
2.
Grease/Gear Oil - a lubricant made specifically for transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials in automobiles, trucks, and other machinery.
3.
Lubricating Oil for Rail Engines - Marine, Power, and Drilling Rig (EMD & GE) - Specialty lubricants for rail engines and marine, power and drilling rigs.
4.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid - For medium- and heavy-duty vehicles with diesel engines produced after 2010.
5.
Re-Refined Lubricants - Used motor oil treated to remove contaminants and distilled to separate light and heavy oils. Re-refined oil is the finished blend of base oils with additives.
